# FAQ: access, data, guardrails and what Hockeysticky runs for you

Scope: FAQ (Account, Security). This page covers only what Hockeysticky's site states today. Items the site does not state are marked **Not yet documented**, so nothing here should be read as a commitment.

## Access

### How do I get access?

Access is invite-only for now, as the sign-in page states.

1. Join the waitlist from the homepage.
2. Wait for an invite.
3. When invited, sign in with Google or with email and password.

The homepage says the waitlist includes one month of early access and an early-bird discount. Invite timing and discount terms are **not yet documented**.

### I have no product yet. Can I still join the waitlist?

Yes. The homepage says: "No product yet? Tell us which ideas you want to test."

### Who do I ask if my question is not answered here?

Use the Contact page. It says the founder reads every message.

## Code and tool access

### What do I need to connect?

The homepage says: "Connect your code. Hockeysticky can do everything else." It also asks for your website and blog. The Playbooks page lists the tools each playbook needs.

| Playbook | Tools listed | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Content you own | Code, SEO and discovery, Analytics, AI workspace | Documentation is optional |
| Comparison and alternatives pages | Code, SEO and discovery, Analytics, AI workspace | |
| Live conversations | Social and conversations, AI workspace, Analytics | |

The homepage lists these AI workspaces: Claude, Codex, ChatGPT, Gemini, Cursor, Lovable, Bolt and Base44. It also lists integration categories such as code, documentation, SEO and discovery, analytics, advertising, CRM, outreach and email, social and conversations, and community.

### What permissions does the code connection need? Is my code stored?

**Not yet documented.** The site says the product reads your release and product context. It does not state permission scopes, retention or storage. Ask via the Contact page before connecting anything sensitive. Founder to confirm before this answer is published.

## What runs for you and what needs approval

### What does Hockeysticky do?

The homepage describes a four-step loop for each release:

```mermaid
flowchart LR
  A[Understand: read the release, product context and audience] --> B[Propose: choose plays, channels and tools to test]
  B --> C[Execute: create, publish, reach out and launch within your guardrails]
  C --> D[Learn: measure qualified visits and sign-ups]
  D --> A
```

Execution is described as happening "within your guardrails". Plays include publishing blog posts, docs and pages, adapting ideas for other platforms, outreach, live conversations and ads.

### Which actions run automatically and which need my approval?

**Not yet documented.** The product includes approval and autonomy controls, but the site does not list default settings or which actions are gated. Until this is confirmed, assume you set the guardrails and should review them before connecting publishing, outreach or ad accounts. Founder to confirm defaults.

### Does it keep working without me?

The homepage says playbooks "run while you sleep" and update as your market, evidence and releases change. A weekly growth review routine is also described. It checks releases, traffic and market signals and flags opportunities. How often and in what form it reports is **not yet documented**.

## Qualified visits

### How are qualified visits defined?

There is no single universal definition. The pricing page says: "We agree what qualified means for your product, establish a baseline, and measure attributable improvement rather than rewarding empty traffic."

| Step | What the pricing page says |
|---|---|
| Define | Agree what qualified means for your product |
| Baseline | Establish a baseline |
| Measure | Measure attributable improvement |

The pricing page also says the pricing model, tied to qualified visitors and sign-ups, is still being validated. No prices are published, so none are stated here.

## Playbooks today versus coming

### Which playbooks exist?

The Playbooks page says it starts with two goals: Awareness (getting found) and Trial (turning visitors into sign-ups). Each playbook has one key metric, a motion fit and the tools it needs.

| Goal | Status on the Playbooks page |
|---|---|
| Awareness | Available as a goal. Visible plays include Content you own, Comparison and alternatives pages, Live conversations and Customer outreach |
| Trial | Available as a goal |
| Onboard | Coming |
| Retain | Coming |
| Expand | Coming |

The homepage also describes creator partnerships, paid traffic, buying and trial intent, community, and content on other platforms. Whether each of these is live to invited users is **not yet documented**.

### Are the stated potential and timing figures results?

No. The Playbooks page says typical potential is a general editorial view for a solo founder or small team over about 90 days, "not a measured result". First-signal ranges are shown per playbook, for example 4-12 weeks for Content you own, and are not guarantees.

## Gaps to resolve before publishing

- Code connection permissions and data handling (belongs under FAQ > Security).
- Default approval and autonomy settings, and which actions always need approval.
- Invite timing and early-access terms (belongs under FAQ > Account).
- Which Awareness plays beyond the four listed are live to invited users.
